Gotta stay strong

I wonder why it is that a person can bowl so great for a couple of months and then one day, they wake up and just suck! That happens to me everytime i feel like i'm making true progress. I've made it to a 184 average over the fall. For the last month, i've been in a hole of bowling 150-175. I cannot fix myself for nothing. And my overthinking just seems to make it worse. Any suggestions on how to find myself?

As the saying goes remain calm, cool, and collected. |

I've had my moments when I am bowling really well and then just suck. When I get like that during league my team mates tell me to stay aggressive with my shot and to bowl with confidence. So now thats drilled into my head and it will appear whenever I'm slipping.
JosieSometimes I have to go back to basics (slow down, stay down, stay steady at the line, and follow through). Sometimes I even do a double swing on my follow through just to make sure I completely do it. Occasionally I suddenly suck cause the house changed the shot and if thats the reason, I'll realize it when I start from square one.
You're right, over thinking can make things worse! Sometimes I experience an added pressure when my average goes up. I get antsy and worried about how to maintain the average. That causes me to think too much then I start sucking. I know now how to deal with it. Just try to remember your average is what is for a reason when you start feeling that added pressure.
Remember stay confident, stay aggressive, stay down, stay steady, and follow through. Go Back to Basics!
